Part 1: Race Track

When?

• Construction will begin Saturday and take place over the weekend.  
• We will spend the weekdays gathering materials.  If you plan on being a builder, come with your materials Friday-Sunday.  
• If you do not have time to build but would like to donate materials, find the donation chests on the second floor of the spawn building and deposit them into the hoppers.  Let someone know what you put in so we know who to thank! :)

The Idea 

For this project, we want to build a horse track.  It will be a large track with redstone powered starting gates and a finish line.  We want it to look like a legitimate race track with a grandstand, club house, center green, and a paddock for the horses.

The Plan: 

1. We will spend the next couple of days collecting materials.  If you do not wish to build but you have extra materials that you'd be willing to donate, you are welcome to drop them off in the chests at the second floor of spawn.  
2. Next, everyone will need to grab their picks and shovels and prepare to clear out  the area where we are going to build near spawn (Z will mark off the area).
3. The first step toward building will be to outline the main structures in dirt so everyone can get an idea of what the track should look like:
   
4. The next step will be to decide on which materials to use where and start outlining where they should go.
5. While the builders are putting the blocks in place, our redstone crew will be working to put together the starting and finishing gates.  
6. Once the gate, track, and main structures are done, we will begin working on the details, putting in fences, steps, flowers, etc.
